Sightings Archive

Every approved dolphin and whale sighting in the Cape Fear region — community reports and Cape Fear Dolphin Research survey records — with the tide, weather, and behavior data recorded at the time of each observation.

Researchers & GIS users: the same records are available as a live GeoJSON feed at /api/public/sightings-geojson (optional ?days=, ?species=, and ?source=citizen|research filters). Personal reporter details are never included.
